20:20 print exchange exhibition

A fantastic collection of work from printmakers across the UK and Ireland has made its way to the Bluecoat: the result of a print exchange.

Each artist involved in the show sent an edition of 25 (identical) prints to Hot Bed Press in Salford. Staff there sorted the prints and sent back a ‘lucky dip’ of 10 prints to each artist.

The Bluecoat's print studios took part. Our contributors were Sacha Spyrou, Lisa Who, Hannah Fray, Jen Allanson, Dave Rees, Frances Disley, Mick Gill, Dave Evans, Sue Maclaren, Rhonda Davies, Bee Hughes, Colette Whittington and Martin Kochany…and Bluecoat tenants: Susan Comer and Christine Toh.

Size was restricted to 20cm by 20cm, hence the title of the project. Hot Bed Press kept one of each print for exhibition purposes and we have a selection of them, including etchings, relief prints, collographs and lithographs.

The show will run until  and admission is completely free, so come along and have a look!

There are currently 86 print workshops allowing public access in the UK and Ireland. For the past 3 years Hot Bed Press in Salford has organised an open print exchange. Over 200 artists from the UK and Ireland took part this year.
